Your best friend in the whole world might be a member of the opposite sex. You might be so comfortable around each other that you feel like you can truly be yourself. When you express romantic feelings to a friend, you are likely making a huge mistake. Unless your feelings are so strong that there is no way you can deny them, there is no reason to think that your little crush should be expressed. Many times people might think they want to date their friends because everyone thinks their own friends are great.
